meanwhile, Vizag is resisting yet another “development” project involving Modi’s best friend, Adani. locals, activists and Dalit farmers are protesting the massive Google–Adani data centre project, stripping Dalits of land originally allotted to Dalit families. the data centre poses enormous water and electricity demands, and ecological damage in an already water-stressed city. project sites have also drawn scrutiny for their proximity to the Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary and its eco-sensitive zone. communities near large data centres have also reported health concerns linked to persistent noise, including sleep disturbance, headaches, stress, hypertension and potential cardiovascular risks. the AI clouds need land and water. and somehow, Adani is always there to collect the rain.

i agree but the folks texting ChatGPT generally don’t have friends or don’t have emotionally intimate relationships that allow them to disclose what they’re going through. the lack of community caused the emotional dependence on AI, not the other way around
