"but that's been already built" in a learning space is like saying you wouldn't jump into the pool to learn swimming because so many people have already done so. Until we invent the technology to share knowledge instantly between brains You gotta jump into the pool.

I am looking for a venue to host a Generative AI meetup for about 100 people in July in Bangalore. If you can help with a location or sponsor (against a talk slot) please DM. This event will have speakers from some of the most popular machine learning open source maintainers/developers and founders in the field as well. Retweet for reach!

The focus on “grinding LC/spoj/Hacker rank” is so high that software engineers today are very misguided and swim in shallow waters. Hustle culture needs to die. Learning for learning’s sake needs to be revived.
Swanand@_swanand

Interviewing 4-6 YoE devs again for friends. My reaction: What the hell happened to software engineering? - score 100% on Leetcode/Hackerrank/etc - quite good with coding And yet: Struggle to describe like an engineer, a software system they spent two years working on

In the spirit of sharing ways in which I've made mistakes: Found a presentation I gave in Oct 2022 where I used @OpenAI as an example of a great team which might not survive 🤦🏾

Career update: I started working on AI/LLM research at @SnowflakeDB ❄️ Ever since I first started training machine learning models, I enjoyed every step deeper into research and cutting edge applications. Really happy to be working in a world-class research team that brings top AI capabilities to thousands of companies managing their data in the AI Data Cloud. I'm deeply grateful for the past 2 years at @weights_biases ❤️ W&B is an amazing company: it offers great products that accelerate AI research at leading AI companies. It has great culture, developed by fantastic people that are both very talented and kind. The leadership team is both visionary and deeply involved in the technology. Hoping to keep the old friendships and create new ones. Ultimately, that's what keeps our jobs fulfilling.
