I’m in a weird middle ground tbh. This team far exceeded expectations. They brought back New England football and their future is super super bright. That said, I’m not naive to the fact a bright future doesn’t guarantee ever getting back here and they do have real holes.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame election process has long been far too much about politics and relationships. Those, obviously, were not Bill Belichick’s strong suits. He was, however, quite strong at winning more Super Bowls than any coach in history. Those accomplishments — just the highlights of an extraordinary resume — should so far exceed the predictable pollution in the process. Bill Belichick is a Hall of Famer. You know it. I know it. And probably not all that deep down inside, the committee knows it, too.
