@ManUnitedGem I understand you’re doing this for the traction but please be for real. If you can get quality players for less then why not? Also, in what Universe was Anderson the best midfielder in the league? Finally which of the expensive buys have more quality than Tielemans so far?

Most of #mufc fanbase is applauding INEOS transfer strategy cause they got Santos and tielemanns for £85m rather than paying all that for fernandes ! It's smart business ONLY if you're just trying to battle for top 4 ! That penny pinching strategy will only leave us with decent players , not top or world class players ! And you can't win titles with just decent players cause our rivals keeps strengthening, paying what it takes to get their top targets! City spent £130m to get the best midfielder in the league last season ! Liverpool has an expensive attack! Chelsea has a midfield 3 of over £350m Spurs spent £185m on a midfield rebuild! Whereas our most productive and valuable player has a release clause of £57m , then we have 5 decent players , the rest are averages or deadwoods! As much as I would to appreciate INEOS strategy, now is not the time to be stingy , we need two or three world class players ! Next season , we don't just want to compete in the league , we should be challenging for titles and only top players can get you that !

@AdamJoseph I’m intrigued by the options it opens up for us in midfield. We could play Bruno, the DM and Kobbie, or Bruno Youri and the DM or we could even rest Bruno and play the DM, Youri and Kobbie, we could play Santos as a DM or as one of the CMs. This is before adding mount btw.

Regardless of who the third midfielder is, I'm curious about what it opens up for Manchester United to do elsewhere. With Andrey Santos & Youri Tielemans in for £85m, the other CM won't bring the spending much higher than £150m, rather than the expected £200m. Does that allow bigger spending on LB, LW? Either way, it should mean Manchester United can invest further in the rest of the squad this summer no matter who it is. Spending smart rather than desperately overpaying for players makes some sense after all.

Argentina has made it work in a way that Messi don’t need to do anything like press or make excessive sprints out of possession.. He just strolled around till the other 10 win the ball back and kickstart another attack where he’s needed. That’s how you set up to carry your 39 years old best player. Maybe Portugal expected too much from Ronaldo OOP and it affected them.

This is what actually vexes me. We’ve watched these two go head-to-head for almost 15 years. If you couldn’t decide who your GOAT was throughout their primes, why are you suddenly using what they’re winning at the very end of their careers to settle the debate? Did anyone say the debate was over when Ronaldo won his second international trophy? Did everyone suddenly crown him the undisputed GOAT? No. So why should the opposite happen now? If you think Messi is the greatest, that’s your opinion and that’s fine. But changing your mind solely because of trophies won in the final chapter of their careers makes no sense. Judge their entire body of work, not just how the story ends. Ronaldo is the Goat, Messi should win 3 World Cup, Ronaldo remains the GOAT.
