Culinary students are putting final touches on their gingerbread houses for the final presentation at Gingerbread house wars on Friday at FHS

By far the highlight of the week (maybe the year) was getting to go practice with our Mustang special Olympic bowlers this evening…and beating Mr.Ashna. Of course I got on the lane with the two medalists from last year.

At the end of each school year this is the text I wait for from our great Transportation Director, Dean Lewis. Thank you Lord for your protection, blessings on FISD, and for our community for 24-25 school year.

I wonder at how much growth kindergarten students make in a year. Really is a miracle that God creates these sponges that take so much in and grow as they do. Celebrating Windsong kinder graduation and these kids and teachers this morning.

It is getting real senior parents! Senior picture, 12 year senior picture, and Baccalaureate today! Caps and gowns ready to go for Saturday. Looking forward to graduation celebration.

One of the keys to great public schools is parent engagement. So much evidence of that today at Cline Kinder graduation. Packed house of smiles, Pride, and joy.

Every year we do a signing day for all our FHS Ready, Set, Teach seniors guaranteeing them an interview upon graduation from college. We have benefited from this in already hiring 5-6 of our staff from this group over the last several years. Grow your own!!!

FHS choir spring pop show was an amazing event. The courage and talent of our kids and the level of commitment of our directors to make it happen shines so big. Huge crowd tonight and another performance tomorrow night at 7:00. Go check it out.

Getting ready to tee it up at the 5A Girls Golf State Championship! Hit it long and straight- Go Mustangs.

Check out the new softball scoreboard! Chloe Aldrich christened it by bouncing a home run off it in 2nd inning! Great to see the Mustangs in front on it as well! New baseball scoreboard going in tomorrow!

Education Foundation field trip today found us at Cline, Windsong, and FHS experiencing the partnership between the visions of both FISD and the Education Foundation in the hands of our students and teachers.

For the mission moment today, Mrs. Quigley showed off the mobile kitchen purchased through an Education Foundation Legacy grant. Tasty learning!

Got to start my morning talking with our head volleyball coach’s leadership group from FHS and FJH. Grateful for leaders who step into leadership intentionally and for these girls influence in FISD.

Thank you to our district Art staff for our Rodeo art show to highlight the amazing talent of our district art students. So fun to see all the smiles of proud kids, parents, aunts, uncles, friends and grandparents at the new PAC this evening.

FISD teaching and learning dept hosted a community focus group at FJH this morning to observe Positive Behavior Intervention and support systems and student engagement practices going on in classrooms of FJH. Love to have our community see their classrooms and schools at work.

I’m totally inspired by the work of teachers, community members, students, and administrators who spent two days working on a refresh of the FISD strategic plan. One more day to come in March - really excited about the collective voice in this plan and what is ahead.
