Please also note, the new list of countries doesn’t replace the earlier one. There are now two tiers. The other high risk countries and areas are: France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taipei and environs, and the USA [3/3] #coronavirus #Thailand

Still a lot of misinformation being posted as to whether tourists from South Korea, China, Macao, Hong Kong, Italy & Iran have to do mandatory 14 day quarantine. This one was tweeted by the public relation department of the government which contradicts Thai health officials [1/3]

@pakhead One poll in Africa showed 44% had not heard of climate change. In Thailand? More awareness needed

Climate strike march to Ministry of Environment in Bangkok today. Young, passionate, more foreigners than Thais. Kudos to the school children who took part. It’s their future.

Dinner tonight was at the Scarlett on the top floor of the Pullman G hotel. Some lovely views of Bangkok. I wish I could say the same about the meal. The prime Australian steak was mainly raw and fatty and burnt around the edge. Basically inedible. The dessert was great though.

The smog situation in Chiang Mai and Pai is far worse today with the AQI being classed as “hazardous”. Smog masks should be compulsory today. Chiang Mai university has cancelled all classes. This photo is what it is like today compared to a good day #ฝุ่นละอองPM25 #Thailand

@RichardBarrow Not a great time for a weekend trip from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi either this Saturday. Meteoblue forecasts #PM25 peaking at 1000!

Are you sure you want to take a holiday in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai or Pai this month? The only blue sky you will see will be in tourist brochures. And I bet they don’t say you should pack a smog mask if visiting during March & April #Thailand

@thai_watch @RichardBarrow_ @rjhintz @RichardBarrow The only thing I would want to test sea water would be on the most popular Thai beaches. Find out if you are swimming in pollution from human waste, or contaminated water from Chemical Factories or oil refineries. That would be interesting. That would be something for u Richard

I’m testing seven bottles of water sold in #Thailand for purity. I’m using a Xiaomi Mi TDS Pen. Pure water will score between 0-50 ppm. Tap water is 165 ppm. Mineral water or any water that has been fortified will be 300+ ppm. What about these bottles that are less than 10 Baht?

#Thailand as #ASEAN Chair has the ability to put regional pollution on the agenda and start the process of change - but does it have the will to do so?

@eeccait Yes but explain why when it’s bad in BKK - static air, E/NE airflow, thermal inversion - is AQI just as bad or worse in a village 100, 200km away, if local vehicle emissions contribute over 50% of pollutants in the Big Mango? @bajinder/why-does-pollution-peak-during-winter-months-ecff6164808c" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@bajinder/why-…

Yes but explain why when it’s bad in BKK is AQI just as bad or worse in the countryside 100, 200km away, if vehicle emissions contribute over 50% of pollutants in the Big Mango? Sorry, but #logicfail - or something worse.

@bajinder @qs Every time I ask the same question. Why during the period of stagnant air and airflow from the E/NE, is the AQI as bad & sometimes worse outside Bkk 100km away, if vehicle emissions contribute over 50%? It just does not add up, sorry. FB.com/PollutionWatch…
