Fuck you guys. Truly.

The Black middle/professional class is precarious because so much of it is tied to government employment and nonprofits. Teaching, social work, nursing, civil service, etc., that stuff ultimately depends on white folks acting right and not cutting shit to the bone. That’s a neocolonial relationship.

Most people don’t actually hate working, they hate putting in effort, time, and energy into something that doesn’t fairly compensate them or respect their worth. When the pay doesn’t match the struggle, even passion starts to feel like pressure.

There’s no job worth writing a cover letter for.

This is partially why I feel differently about Black politicians who refuse to walk away. Too many in the new generation will not protect the freedoms the last generation worked hard to attain for us.

My "woke take" is that people need to stop calling everything considered being politically correct "woke" and recognize that the term was made to specifically apply to being vigilant and aware of racial prejudice and systemic injustice
