Pain of divided Kashmir A coffin was brought to Neelum River in Indian-administered Kashmir, only to show from a distance to part of the family living in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Because of this divide, by only few yards, they can’t see coffin, can’t meet of their family.

This video reflects the helplessness and suffering of Kashmiris on both sides. We cannot even attend the funerals of our loved ones. Raja Liaquat Ali Khan, who passed away yesterday in Indian-occupied Kashmir, had a family that had migrated to AJK. His brothers and sisters were forced to watch his funeral from across the river.

The sentencing of Asiya Andrabi sahiba and her colleagues Sofi Fehmeeda and Nahida Nasreen is a matter of concern. Given the years already spent in detention, the sentence stands out for its severity and harshness . We hope that in line with democratic principles, and on humanitarian grounds their case be reviewed with sensitivity and compassion, especially considering Asiya ji’s age and health and they be released.

The Rathoa Haryam Bridge project has been ongoing since around 2011 and remained incomplete for over a decade under multiple governments, including PPP, PML-N, PTI, and the current setup. It is not the achievement of any single administration alone. Importantly, real momentum on this project only came after sustained public pressure, particularly following the protests led by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee. It was the people of the region who raised their voices and demanded completion of a project that had long been neglected. Public infrastructure is a responsibility, not a favour. When a project takes more than 10 to 15 years to near completion, it reflects collective delays, not a single success story. Credit must go to the people who stood up and forced progress, not just those now claiming it. #RightsMovementAJK
