I Made $75-100K Talking On Zoom Calls. i've been doing paid research studies for 5 years started sophomore year at UNC between classes made $75-100K total and i'm going to lay out how i did it because i'm tired of people saying this doesn't work when they spent 2 days on survey junkie and gave up THE PLATFORMS (ranked by payout) not all platforms are equal. most of the internet will point you to garbage sites that pay $0.50 per survey. these are the ones that actually pay real money: TIER 1 — the money platforms: Respondent average payout: $100-500 per study study types: B2B interviews, product feedback, industry research best for: people with professional experience (any industry) how it works: companies post studies, you apply, they select you based on your profile User Interviews average payout: $50-300 per study study types: product testing, concept evaluation, user experience research best for: anyone with opinions and a webcam how it works: similar to respondent but wider range of study types UserTesting average payout: $10-120 per test study types: website and app testing (unmoderated and moderated) best for: quick money, high volume how it works: you record your screen while using a website or app. talk out loud about what's confusing TIER 2 — supplementary platforms: Prolific: academic studies, $8-20/day if you check regularly. lower per-study payout but extremely consistent dscout: diary studies and missions, $20-250 per mission. great for passive income Intellizoom: shorter UX tests, $5-10 each but quick turnaround PLATFORMS TO AVOID: survey junkie, swagbucks, inbox dollars, branded surveys, opinion outpost these are the $0.50-$2 per survey sites that make the entire industry look like a scam. they exist to sell your data. the surveys are filler. the payouts are insulting if someone recommends these to you they've never made real money from research studies COMMON OBJECTIONS "sounds too good to be true" it's not too good to be true. companies have research budgets. they need human feedback. they pay for it. this has been happening since 1946 when focus groups were invented. you're just late "i applied and didn't get accepted" you applied to 3 studies. i apply to 15-20 per week. volume is the game. your acceptance rate goes up as your profile matures "i don't have professional experience" you don't need it for UX testing and consumer studies. those pay $50-200 and require nothing except a pulse and a webcam. the professional experience just unlocks the $300-500 tier "is this available outside the US?" yes. respondent and user interviews both accept international participants. some studies specifically WANT non-American perspectives. i have students making $800-2,000/month from Nigeria the system works. it's boring. it's not glamorous. nobody's going to congratulate you for making $400 on a zoom call about banking apps but $12-15K/year in extra income from 30 minutes a day? and it's sitting right there waiting for anyone willing to actually show up comment "research" for access to the free workshop on making money with research studies (must be following for a DM)
