After yesterday’s post, I realized some people might have misunderstood what I meant.
It may have sounded like I was saying that once a community is active and engaging, moderators are no longer needed at all.
That’s not what I meant.
I’m a moderator myself, so I understand firsthand how important the role really is.
And I felt it was only right to clear that up.
A thriving community doesn’t replace moderators it actually makes their role even more important.
Moderators are not just there to push engagement or keep conversations going.
They are the backbone that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
They maintain order when things get chaotic.
They guide new members so they don’t feel lost.
They enforce rules to keep the space safe and respectful.
And beyond that, they handle the things most people don’t even notice…
Protecting the community from scammers and hackers.
Flagging suspicious links.
Preventing misinformation from spreading.
Stepping in before small issues turn into big problems.
A good community might look like it runs itself.
But the truth is, there are always people working quietly in the background making sure it stays that way.
Moderators don’t just build engagement.
They protect, structure, and sustain the entire community.
So the role of a moderator should never be undermined or scrapped.

@ShallowMonarch Being in web3 without asking questions is like sailing on a stormy sea with a rickity boat. It would collapse and you can drown
English

There’s something most people won’t tell you about Web3…
Being the fastest learner doesn’t mean being the smartest.
The smartest are the ones who ask questions.
➣ The Silent Mistake Most Beginners Make
When people first enter Web3, many believe they have to figure everything out on their own.
Everyone seems confident.
Everyone looks like they know exactly what they’re doing.
So they stay quiet.
And that silence comes at a cost.
They click things they don’t fully understand.
They trust things they never questioned.
They miss opportunities because they’re unsure but afraid to speak up.
Not because they lack ability.
But because they didn’t ask.
➣ The Reality of Web3
Web3 is not a space where people “just know things.”
It’s complex.
It moves fast.
And it evolves almost every day.
Nobody and that includes the most experienced knows everything.
The real difference is simple:
Some people accept that…
Others pretend.
➣ The Turning Point
Everything changes the moment a beginner shifts their mindset:
They start asking questions.
Not perfect questions.
Not “smart-sounding” questions.
Just honest ones.
“What does this actually mean?”
“Why is this important?”
“Is this safe?”
“How does this work?”
That’s where clarity begins.
➣ What Asking Questions Does
➛ Saves money
It prevents costly mistakes that come from misunderstanding.
➛ Speeds up learning
Clarity replaces guesswork.
➛ Builds confidence
Understanding reduces confusion.
➛ Connects you with the right people
Curiosity attracts guidance and support.
➣ The Biggest Misconception
Many beginners think asking questions makes them look inexperienced.
But the truth is:
Not asking is what keeps them inexperienced.
➣ A Simple Rule to Follow
If something doesn’t make sense, ask.
If something feels off, ask.
If everyone is hyping something and it’s unclear, ask.
One clear answer can prevent a costly mistake.
➣ The Growth Mindset
A powerful rule to live by:
If it’s not understood, don’t touch it.
If understanding is the goal, ask.
Growth in Web3 doesn’t come from pretending.
It comes from learning.
And learning starts with one simple action:
Asking.
Stay curious.
Stay safe.
And never be afraid to say:
“I don’t understand this yet.”
Because that “yet” is where growth begins.

I recently joined a community, and honestly, I really enjoyed what they were doing there.
Everyone was friendly and easy to approach whether it was the dev, the founder, co-founders, or even interns in different roles.
There was no feeling of hierarchy or distance.
Anyone could talk to anyone, and people were always willing to engage.
The result? The community is constantly active and full of life.
You don’t even need moderators to step in because conversations happen naturally.
People are always ready to talk, share ideas, and take part in the project’s activities.
It doesn’t feel rigid or stiff like a system run by machines. Instead, it feels human.
They’ve built a space that’s welcoming, open, and comfortable where everyone feels included.
And because of that, people are naturally more eager to participate and stay involved.
So as a project trying to build a community a similar approach would be a great idea.

English

@AlegeOfficial Surely every role is important.
As a moderator myself I know that much.
I was just talking about the constant need for the moderator to push the community engagement. So if the moderator isn't present at a given time should the engagement stop? absolutely not.
English

@that_cryptochic But moderators are needed cause hackers tend to make good use of that opportunity 😂
