All eight died. Entire family wiped out! And now the ritual begins, ₹4 lakh compensation, an inquiry, promises of strict action. None of it matters now. These were not accidental deaths. They were preventable deaths caused by greed, negligence, and a complete collapse of accountability. If the hotel owners had even a shred of conscience, if the officials responsible for inspections and enforcement had done their jobs honestly instead of looking the other way, this family might still be alive.

Today's launch marks the culmination of nearly a year of work on Project GANGA. The initiative was conceived in July 2025. In March 2026, the MoU between UP's State Transformation Commission and OneOTT, the Hinduja Group's broadband arm, was signed in the presence of Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna. By May, discussions with banking partners had been completed and the project was ready for rollout. CM Yogi also reviewed the project in a high-level meeting, where he pushed for faster fibre expansion, transparency in implementation, and proper training of DSPs. Today, he formally launched it. The timeline is worth noting because this wasn't a scheme that was announced on Monday and inaugurated on Friday. It spent months in planning, coordination, review, and fine-tuning before reaching the launch stage. That kind of preparation matters. When a project is given time to develop, undergo scrutiny, and build the necessary ecosystem before launch, implementation tends to be smoother and outcomes are usually better. #DigitalGanga
