@thatechopmo @tunechistark you are talking context, and it's important, but facts are facts: Aang, even while being 12 years old, fucked up reaaaly bad. that's really frustrating how much can people close eyes to just because "hE wAs JuSt A cHiLd" "fixing everything later" is just laughable

@FyresDrago24581 @pickles80202 @williamwhite043 I never said anything about that not being able to happen, I was saying deer overpopulation is more commonly/relatively recently due to these problems. Moreover, overpopulation to our extent causes extreme cases all accross the world

@AmenNoLighter @tunechistark Right because a scared 12 yr old, naturally running because he just wasn't ready(eventually fixing everything later)= a grown ahh woman losing the connection to past avatars, ruining a literal utopia, and leaving shint like the FACE STEALER to roam the physical world. Right

@FyresDrago24581 @pickles80202 @williamwhite043 Cool, you found an example of seasonal overpopulation with hares, yeah that's overpopulation, I don't see hares travel across the world destroying ecosystems, actively hunting down animals, have multiple accounts of actively causing certain animals to go extinct, etc.

@libcrap @pickles80202 @williamwhite043 Human beings on the other hand are vast in the space they inhabit, and all over the world we have boomed with very little examples of us crashing to the point of our population going back to "normal." We have affected a multitude of ecosystems negatively, and have actively caused

@FyresDrago24581 @pickles80202 @williamwhite043 Deer overpopulate due to a loss of natural predators, an abundant amount human resources. Natural predators were actively removed by humans, primarily by specific programs(apex predators like wolves, cougers etc.)

@pickles80202 @Skye_Hedgehog @williamwhite043 uh... is english your native language? That's not what I said at all- if it's not, I can say it in your native language. Otherwise, please reread my tweet-

@pickles80202 @Skye_Hedgehog @williamwhite043 Then they stop being considered "endangered" publically. Allowing for the species to still be hunted down while they are still considered endangered is a big no-no.

@Skye_Hedgehog @thatechopmo @williamwhite043 No fucking shit dumbass. An animal is endangered cus they aint enough of em and after enough time of being protected there's to many of that animal and they start causing a problem.

@thatechopmo @williamwhite043 The article doesn't go into the Florida Manatee other than to say that their case for threatened status is still pending. Now it's a case by case basis when they get newly listed as threatened if they receive those greater protections, instead automatic blanket 4(d) protections.

@Skipxbeat @williamwhite043 Tbf, tho, the Florida Manatee is threatened due to habitat loss, pollution, and general human activity(only pretty recently being taken off of the "endangered" list)[2017]. Does the article say how species are factored?

@thatechopmo @williamwhite043 The change also doesn't call for the intentional killing of any of these animals, and killing endangered species is still a federal crime. It also changes it to a case by case basis instead of just blanket endangered protections for newly declared threatened species.

@pickles80202 @williamwhite043 The only "natural" example of an animal species growing too large, and actively putting others are serious risk are human beings. Directly, indirectly, or otherwise.

@pickles80202 @williamwhite043 Basic environmental factors keep the population in check. Only when a species is brought out of their habitat, or when their habitat itself changes too fast due to human interference, does this balance become broken.

@Skipxbeat @williamwhite043 That'd definitely better than how that twitter post made it sound, but still not a good development. I don't know about the florida manatee, but unless it's life or death for some people, hunting down a species that is arguably in the threatened zone isn't a good development.

@williamwhite043 Because it's a misinterpretation change. This is the article they source and it only applies to threatened species who were receiving the same protections as endangered species, not endangered species and it only applies to newly declared threatened species, not endangered ones.
