@The1UX Apple’s first-party apps aren’t bloatware. Apple owns the hardware, OS, and apps, so they’re part of the platform not OEM customizations. The storage overhead is minimal & most are removable. bloatware is usually 3rd party software preloaded for business reasons

@The1UX @_mutyaba_ Basically you could think of bloatware as apps installed on a device from outside influence of the company designing the OS who’s removal wouldn’t significantly change the usage or feature expectation of the device (this also brings in the reason Apple is getting sued Apple inte)

@The1UX @_mutyaba_ If that were the case settings would be bloatware, we don’t call it that though because we need settings for essential functions, also iOS and android both surface essential os functions as apps such as for Google GPS and for Apple AirDrop/FindMy

@Gamingtronium You’re using modern android in modern android when a developer submits an app google chops that app up into small components and makes updates modular odds are the user on the left already had a version or component of Gemini already installed

@Samaytwt Use ponytail if you’re working on anything complex see if you can start off with a template, actually look into uml and how to write a spec, try using low/medium thinking

My theory is that Liquid Glass & Icon Composer started as a design tool solely for the Photos app icon, and people liked messing with it so much they were like screw the consequences let's just build the entire OS design language on top of this

@wahab_twts The concept of the thumbnail is derived from creators shooting in 9:16; apple seeing your have to rotate your device for this aspect ratio would see that as a design flaw and realistically thumbnails would look closer to poster cars instead of optimizing for more they’d curate
