The 100 Million

The road to Inauguration Day was long and windy— but if participation is the hallmark of a healthy democracy, 2020 turnout should give us cause for optimism that transcends partisan divides. #InaugurationDay

This is actually a common determining factor in likelihood of voting— voters are significantly more likely to say they grew up surrounded by political discussion at home.

@johnnysundari @SusanSarandon Not liking the candidates was indeed the #1 reason non-voters in our survey cited for sitting out elections. And it was the top reason cited by progressives who abstain (nearly 21 million people). But many people who don’t vote regularly are also very open to it.

Many people assume it’s too late to inspire non-voters to #vote because they’re unregistered. GOOD NEWS: most non-voters are actually registered to cast a ballot! Learn more about the reasons non-voters abstain at the100million.org.
