….OR the ones who see the wisdom but are actually able to execute a cognitive analysis of a hypothetical situation in reality vs theory. Don’t put words in the mouths of the many coaches who recognize the downside outweighs the upside. None of your labels apply to me: 1. Practically ALL my weekends are already tied up in soccer. This is a 24/7 job 2. It won’t be any more work than we have now—same 20 games. Same 24/7 job, just reallocation of schedule. 3. We have milder climate and facilities to play year round but it would wreak havoc with admins/support staff/operations who are already overworked snd stretched thin 4. We already recruit a TON and again that schedule budget would just be reallocated. There would be no increased recruiting bc of a split season 5. I’m “simply ok” with whatever is in best interest of student athlete which is the ONLy thing anyone should be concerned about. The littany of issues this creates far outweighs the problems of our overly condensed fall season.

Men's soccer planning to move its championship from December to March; will play a two-segment, two-semester season -- up to 18 matches from August through Thanksgiving weekend, then 10 more plus the tournament in February/March. Subject to cabinet review and approval.

The NCAA wants 5 in 5 and they do not care about any other sport besides Football & Basketball. This will have huge ramifications on College and Junior hockey. But the affect on High School hockey in Minnesota could be very bad! This is just a small piece of our conversation on this topic. Full show: youtube.com/live/9_bvwaoCM…

Maybe we go back to giving athletes what they’re worth instead of whatever it takes to get them back. The spending is insane in FB and BB for guys that aren’t even starters. The point of NIL was to pay athletes what their worth and give opportunities to make money off themselves. Not every athlete deserves to start college with a 100k paycheck.
