The winner of the 2025 BTJA Mike Dickson Award is Hannah Fitzpatrick from Belfast. The panel also highly commended Sam France, Madeleine Metz, Nicholas Searle-Donoso and Cameron Vaziri. A large number of entries was received with a high standard across the board. Thanks to all.

Jack Draper is the 2024 BTJA Player of the Year in recognition of a season during which he won two ATP titles and finished at a career-high of world No 15. Andy Murray is the winner of the BTJA's Services to British Tennis Award for his extraordinary contribution to the sport.

The BTJA passes its condolences to the family and friends of Alan Jones, the well-respected British coach who has died after a short illness at the age of 75. Alan received the BTJA's Special Award in 2017 to honour more than 50 years of service to the sport.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mike Dickson, the Daily Mail tennis correspondent and former BTJA chairman. Mike was a respected colleague and friend, who was in Melbourne covering the 24th Australian Open of his distinguished career. Condolences to his family.

Also, Christine Truman Janes is the winner of the BTJA's Services to British Tennis award, recognising her significant contribution to the sport, both as a player and a broadcaster.

And Sue Barker has won this year’s Services to British Tennis Award, in the year she bowed out in such style at Wimbledon. “I had a wonderful Wimbledon this year,” Sue says, “and those tributes will live me with forever, and so will this award.”

Cameron Norrie has been named the British Tennis Journalists’ Association Player of the Year - in recognition of winning his third and fourth ATP titles, and peaking at 8 in the rankings after reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals. btja.co.uk/pressroom

We are sad to have to pass on the news that Rex Bellamy - an honorary member of the BTJA and a well-respected former tennis correspondent for The Times - passed away this morning at the age of 94. Our condolences to his family and friends.

The BTJA is mourning the passing of one of our former chairmen, Barry Newcombe. As Chris says, he was a fine friend, mentor and travelling companion to so many.
