CIPC system is giving a date-of-birth format error that prevents us from proceeding with registrations. The irony is that the date format comes directly from their own system, yet it is rejected. Please assist urgently. @theCIPC

@theCIPC Your enquiry functionality on your website doesn't work. It crashes. . . Your emails are not going through, they bounce. Your phones are not picked up, I have been trying to call since the 10th of March. I am frustrated, I don't what to do anymore.

Kindly note a holding company or subsidiary company is not a company type as defined in section 8 of the Companies Act, 2008. Therefore a holding company (main function) cannot be registered as such with the CIPC. A company is incorporated as a profit company (private, personal liability or public company) and only becomes a “holding” company by way of a shareholders agreement and/or share allocation from the subsidiaries. This is dealt with internally by the companies in question and not registered with the CIPC. The issue of shares, share registers and share certificates are also dealt with internally by companies and not drafted by, or registered with the CIPC.
