There’s still work to be done; in 2025 alone, through consistent testing of pregnant women, GAIA identified 32 positive cases of HIV and connected these women to treatment, helping them prevent transmission of the virus to their infants.

GAIA mobile clinics are helping change this: treating 631,000+ malaria cases to date, including 45,851 in 2024 alone. Clinics provide timely diagnosis, treatment, and antenatal care—including malaria prophylaxis for pregnant women and their unborn children.

Malaria remains a major public health challenge in Malawi and globally —children under five and pregnant women made up nearly 80% of the 597,000 malaria deaths worldwide in 2023. Without prompt treatment, it can rapidly escalate to severe illness and death.
