News! We just launched “The General Podcast” 🎙️ It’s a ‘hostless' show that pairs tech and business leaders together for honest, behind-the-scenes conversations about building: 🎙️ Ep 1: Katie Dill (@lil_dill) x Randy Hunt (@randyjhunt) 🎙️ Ep 2: A healthcare journalist x a Pulitzer Prize-winning author 🎙️ Ep 3: Two rising media founders 🎙️ Ep 4: Two legendary COOs And many more. So why are we doing this? The best conversations don’t happen in interviews. They happen between peers—people solving similar problems, or shaped by shared experience across an entire career. We built a show around that. Listen 👇

Your coding agent is a 10x engineer with the memory of a goldfish. Feeding it stale information and messy Slack threads is a recipe for burning tokens and hallucinations.

If you want to figure out how to get better at "storytelling" just put your favorite journos in the hot seat. Thank you @coryweinberg, @Priyasideas + Rebecca Ackermann for the candor ✍️ We explored what makes someone interesting, how to build real relationships with journalists (hint: provide value), and why authenticity is the only thing that cuts through. @thegp

why do otherwise sharp founders and companies suffer from such lazy incurious box-checking thinking when it comes to their narrative? had fun designing a talk around this - thanks to @thegp for having me!

I'm so excited to be partnering with @WorkOS for the upcoming season of Lenny's Podcast. Instead of rotating sponsors every episode, I'm simplifying: one presenting sponsor for the full quarter (first up, @WorkOS), and a mid-roll supporting sponsor (shoutout @TrustVanta). Tweeting about WorkOS isn't part of the deal, but they are seriously awesome: - Anyone who's anyone is a customer: OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor, Snowflake, Sierra, Vercel, Clay, etc. - Valued at over $2B with just ~100 employees - @grinich hosts some of the best tech events in SF Get your enterprise starter pack right here: For your SSO needs: workos.com For your SOC-2 needs: vanta.com

So true, yet I can count on one hand SV recruiter -> GP: @andychen @OutcastVC and @dan_portillo @thegp. That’s it. Most GPs were trained on decks and financial models. These 2 are the only GPs trained on people. At seed - what are you betting on, the deck or the founders? 🤔

"Storytelling" is everywhere but it is also a craft that takes years to master. I'm excited to host a group of writers, reporters, editors and filmmakers who are truly excellent at their craft for a candid conversation about media, narrative, authenticity and the ever-elusive skill of telling a good story. The lineup! - Rebecca Ackermann (editor at Lenny's Newsletter, MIT Tech Review, Fast Company, Esquire, The Atlantic and Vox) - @coryweinberg (The Information) - @Priyasideas (Bloomberg, The Information, The San Francisco Standard) - @lee94josh (@afterimage, where he's produced videos for companies like Cursor and Every Inc.) We have a few spots left. Wednesday, 4/1 in SF, RSVP below ✨

🎬I loved producing this episode of The General Podcast because I got to be a fly on the wall for a conversation we're frankly not having enough. Thank you @annaebinder x @ericagalioto for your candor on DEI whiplash, AI experimentation > mandates, and why culture isn't something founders should outsource. These two have collectively led HR at @retool, @asana, Grammarly and @Opendoor - listen up!! 💡

Great conversation - especially the pieces about the leadership required to handle seismic shifts (COVID in the past, AI adoption today).
The General Partnership ("TheGP")@thegp

NEW from The General Podcast: The Chief People Officer episode. @ericagalioto X @annaebinder Erica is currently the Chief People Officer at @retool (previously at Grammarly and @Opendoor). Anna spent nearly a decade as Chief People Officer at @asana. In this conversation, they talk about how 2020 permanently changed the CPO role, the whiplash around DEI, driving AI adoption inside companies without mandates, and why we may not be honest enough about what’s coming. They also make a point every founder should hear: a great Chief People Officer isn’t just the “HR person” at the table. They’re a business leader because culture isn’t something you should outsource. 💡

This is exactly why the Chief People Officer role carries so much unspoken value. It’s not just HR. It’s the quiet architecture that turns a founder’s vision into a living, breathing culture—day after day—when no one else is watching. Anna & Erica nailed it: the best CPOs aren’t executing someone else’s people strategy; they are the strategy. They spot human patterns early, protect the soul of the company at warp speed, and understand why culture can never be outsourced. Founders who treat this role as table stakes instead of a force multiplier are missing the game entirely. Grateful this conversation is finally happening out loud. 🔥

Everyone in the valley is building AI for people who like building with AI. But, the other 99% of professionals just need things handled. No prompting, no setup, no workflow design. Just open it and it works. Serif is delivering an agent for the broker clearing 200 emails a day, the lawyer prepping for 6 meetings, the sales rep managing 50 accounts. They don't want to configure agents. They want to open something and have it work. Black Air Force 1s, not Nike ID. Utility over customization - off the shelf, out of the box, reliable every time.
Kevin Yang@kevinyang

We raised $6.5M to build the agent for professionals. When your reputation is on the line, you need an agent that's reliable, secure, and one step ahead. Try it now at serif.ai
