Priority fees and speedbumps are bandaids against toxic flow that is really a result of your non-optimized execution environment. You think you solved a problem when you’re just moving high volume traders to more optimized environments. We’re happy to accept them @TheHUB

Overheard in TheHUB: "Equidistant fiber architecture and high-performance switching create a controlled latency environment with standardized data distribution and deterministic ordering across all participants."

Crypto trading suffers from structural problems: - Over-reliance on cloud infra - Fragmented tooling - Unpredictable latency - Lack of efficient market structures TheHUB solves these challenges and creates an environment where traders can deploy capital with confidence.

Exchanges host matching engines in TheHUB, gaining immediate access to institutional-grade infrastructure. TheHUB will launch with multiple exchanges in its Tokyo facility. Each one brings market makers and liquidity providers, which also become part of TheHUB ecosystem.

Very cool article by @a16zcrypto. It makes the protocol-level case for predictability, but it stops at the software layer. Even if a chain achieves perfect censorship resistance and hiding, the physical network still introduces non-determinism. If a market maker's cancel message travels an unpredictable path through AWS with variable jitter, no amount of consensus design saves them from adverse selection. Protocol-level predictability is necessary but not sufficient. This is exactly why @TheHUB is being built. Validators, exchanges, and traders can now co-live in the same physical facility with equalized latency networking, so the infrastructure layer matches the guarantees the protocol is trying to deliver. The Hub is the physical complement to what this paper describes at the software level. For professional traders (and especially HFTs), deterministic transaction delivery isn't a nice-to-have, it's the foundation everything else sits on. You can't model risk if you can't predict when your order lands. You can't quote tight spreads if you can't reliably cancel before getting picked off. You can't backtest strategies against production conditions if latency is a random variable every time. In TradFi, this was solved decades ago through colocation. The entire market microstructure (tighter spreads, deeper books, better price discovery) emerged after the physical infrastructure became deterministic. Crypto is at that same inflection point, and The Hub is how we get there.

Every packet entering TheHUB receives a GPS-synchronized timestamp. This timestamp becomes the authoritative record for order sequencing. Regardless of how packets arrive, the system reorders them to eliminate the advantage of physical proximity to the matching engine.

Nodes operating inside TheHUB gain a significant performance edge over validators running on generic cloud infrastructure. Once a blockchain deploys inside TheHUB, external validators face a structural disadvantage by staying outside.

The latency gap between a firm on cloud and another on dedicated infra is too large to ignore (in some cases even orders of magnitude). In markets where execution timing determines outcomes, that gap has a cost for everyone on the platform. Colocation solved this in traditional finance over a decade ago: every firm on the same network, often even on the same data center.
