Today is #999Day which promotes the work of the emergency service. At 9am, an official two-minute silence – 9th hour of 9th day of 9th month – to honour their service and sacrifice and say thank you to the incredible people across the emergency services and volunteer teams.

This week is Air Ambulance Week, a time to recognise and celebrate the life-saving work carried out every day by air ambulance charities across the UK. We’re proud to stand alongside our colleagues in the air ambulance service and encourage everyone to show their support.

Today marks National #BloodBikeDay This is a special day to recognise over 4,500 volunteers across the UK, and the affiliated Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes (NABB) groups who give up their time to provide a free service to our NHS.
