Another Royal Navy/Royal Marine/RAF Dit ⚓️⚓️⚓️🤣🤣🤣 C-in-C Fleet Band had been in RAF Northolt for about 6 months and we went into shirt sleeve order. These shirts were very light and we had the RM on the epaulettes, very comfortable and very quick drying. Now, the RAF were struggling with ranks and uniforms so we saw a opportunity to blow their minds. If we wet out finger and touched the epaulettes a 'pip' appeared and we were officers walking around the camp. We'd salute each other and call each other sir... Once round the corner, the 'pip' would have dried and gone. The RAF didn't know who to salute, who to wave at or who to hide from. Corporals with pips? Officers everywhere... The RAF didn't have a clue, bimbling around saluting anything in Khaki that moved. So to the RAF, sorry but only a tiny little bit sorry!

I had a conversation yesterday about whether I would still join the job today. The Job is certainly harder today than it was when I joined. Pay has not kept pace over the last decade, challenges with social media & IOPC accountability can feel pretty negative but.... after 25 years, I still enjoy going to work.
