2. “We know what time it is.” - referring to the wristwatches given to teams that made the tournament (not sure if they still do that). I still have 2 of the 3 watches we earned—I gave the 3rd to my dad. That repetition and reinforcement kept us locked in all season.

The Eagles have signed RB Dameon Pierce. Some thoughts/info on the signing: ** Pierce is 5-10 but weighs 215 pounds and is only 26-years old. He was a 4th-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, spending his first 3 years with Houston before being cut midway through last season and signing with the Chiefs. ** Pierce had a strong rookie year with 939 yards on 220 carries, averaging 4.3 YPC. His numbers (and carries) have declined the past few seasons, going from 939 yards to 416 yards to 293 yards before totaling only 36 yards last season. ** Despite running a slow 4.59 40, Pierce does have big-play ability, with a 92-yard run in 2024 and a 75-yard run in 2022. ** He hasn’t been much of a threat out of the backfield as a pass-catcher so far in his career with just 45 catches in 43 games. ** His pass-blocking grades are pretty bad throughout his career, per PFF, although it is only on 93 snaps. ** Pierce will come in and compete with Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby for playing time, although he’ll have to have a pretty strong offseason to beat them out for snaps.
