The young dad's card kept failing as he attempted to purchase baby supplies. The people in line didn't know his wife was at home, still recovering from childbirth. "Could you try again?" he asked the cashier, his voice wavering. She tried. Declined. He stood there in a worn gray shirt, mud-stained jeans, and dirty boots. His cart held formula, diapers, bread, peanut butter, medicine, and sanitary pads. The bill wasn't large. That was the heartbreaking part. It was an amount most people wouldn't think twice about. But for him, it was crucial. The line started to stir. Quiet sighs and watch-checking. Someone grumbled. I felt it too. I was tired, and my own groceries were waiting. My finances were tight. Then he started removing items. "Take off the peanut butter," he said. "Take off the bread." He hesitated when looking at the pads. That almost broke him. "And those too." The cashier paused. He let out a painful laugh. "My wife had the baby six days ago," he said, staring down. "She's still bleeding. We ran out." The line went silent. He kept talking, as if everything was pouring out. "The formula has to stay. The diapers too. The medicine too. Our baby has a fever. My wife can't drive. I just finished a double shift. I get paid tomorrow. There should have been money." He tried the card again. Declined. That's when I noticed his hands. Cracked. Raw. Worn from hard labor. Those weren't the hands of someone who didn't try. Those were the hands of someone who had tried everything. And suddenly I wasn't just seeing him. I was seeing my past. I remembered my husband years ago, in the same situation, holding diapers, worry etched on his face. We received no help back then. We made do with what we had. I recall tearing up old towels because we couldn't afford more. So, without overthinking, I reached into my wallet and pulled out the cash I had saved. A hundred dollars. Money I needed. I tapped his cart and said, "Sir, you dropped this." He looked at the money, then at me. "I didn't drop that," he said softly. "Yes, you did," I said, a little louder. "It fell when you took out your wallet." For a moment, he just stood there. He understood. I knew he did. But sometimes dignity is more important than the truth. His hand shook as he took it. He turned back to the cashier. "Add the bread again," he said. Then quietly, "And the peanut butter." He glanced once more. "And the pads too." When finished, he gathered his bags slowly, trying to hold himself together. As he passed me, he didn't say thank you. He couldn't. He just gave a small nod, eyes full, head lowered. And somehow, that said everything. I walked out with less money than planned. But with a peace I hadn't felt in years. For the next few days, I ate simple meals to stretch what I had left. And every bite reminded me of something important. Sometimes, giving a little when it hurts means everything to someone who has nothing left to give.

A guy brought a first date to my bar tonight. He spent 40 minutes bragging about himself, constantly talking over her. When the bill arrived, he patted his jacket. "Forgot my wallet," he smirked, expecting her to cover it all. She didn't blink. She handed me her card, paid exactly her half, and left a cash tip. She looked at him, smiled, and said, "Good luck with yours." Then she walked out. Dating in your 30s is wild. Audacity is loud. Standards walk away.

The patient in room 9 died at 3am. I was there. I watched the monitor flatline. I helped cover the body. I signed the form. At 6am he was sitting up in bed eating breakfast.

My absolute worst nightmare. Mid stream realized I walked into the women’s bathroom when I heard two girls walk in talking to eachother. Made sure the stall door was shut as fast as possible and hid until I thought the coast was clear. This is what I saw in route. Completely fooled me. Regardless, my awareness rating has plummeted. Top 5 worst day of my life.

Even if an intruder is unarmed, should you still be allowed to shoot them for breaking into your house?..

Canada may never have another Conservative government again. No, I’m not black pilling it. Everything is lining up to for the Conservatives to never win another Federal election, at least for the foreseeable future. Right now, people are so frustrated and fed up with Canada, they’re leaving. The ones leaving aren’t the ones who vote Liberal. They’re the Conservatives who are tired of watching the Liberals absolutely destroy Canada. Add to that the floods of people that the Liberals are bringing into Canada. Sorry. Not people. Liberal voters. This will help ensure the Liberals win elections for many terms to come. This is what I predict the future of Canada will be. Endless Liberal governments until they are so successful at destroying us through immigration, that a Muslim Party is formed and they win a majority government, thus paving the way to sharia law in Canada. This isn’t just a possible outcome for Canada, it’s a probable one. Look around. You’ll see the signs. This is exactly what is being planned. And the Liberals are making it happen.
