I submit that, were Donald Trump to be felled by an assassin...foreign or domestic, while in office....the aftermath would be anything but brief. For progressives, it would prove a worst-case turn: the kind that hardens the opposition into something near-religious in its resolve. The Republican / conservative agenda would likely carry the next two presidential elections and hold Congress in a long, stubborn grip. And Trump, in that violent final chapter, would be recast by history, less as an eccentric man of the moment and more as one of the countries defining figures, burnished by tragedy into the upper ranks of remembered presidents. And that irony would be hilarious, because Trump would srtill be triggering leftist's years after his death.

The war with Iran, like a Montana forest fire, rarely starts small. This one was more about style than sense. A bold move, quick and loud, in a place where history moves slowly and deeply. Analysts are calling it a miscalculation and missing a clear way out. Frankly it was the wrong move at the wrong time by a bold arrogant easily manipulated President. But that argument belongs to yesterday. Now, the wind has shifted. Tankers are stalled, missiles are flying, oil routes are choking, and the whole world feels the heat. In a fire, you don’t debate the match-you dig in, hold your ground, and see it through. Regret is gone. Resolve is what’s left. We must support our troops 100%-without qualification. Figure it out and get it done.
