#STAAR is #tomorrow, so today we had some fun reviewing. 20 questions, race to the teacher, & challenges along the way. Today was amazing! I also learned that this #generation doesn’t understand how to #leapfrog over one another, but that’s a problem for another time 😅😅

#STAAR #Blitz It’s that time of the year. Testing season is about to begin…but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun. We took our #review back to elementary #vibes. A little #hopscotch, #leapfrog, & much more! Students were smiling. Learning was happening!

Shoutout to the #busdrivers who take our little ones to & from school. My child just started school & is so excited to catch her bus every morning! These amazing individuals are up & moving before I even have my first cup of coffee. Thank you for making her 1st year a great one!

Last day before #WINTER #Break my 4th period had their #reward for scoring 76% Masters on their exam. I appreciate them reaching the high #goals I set.#pandulce was the perfect #sweet treat to go with a clip we will be using in Jan. to tie into #traditional #literature pieces.

Being able to #grow our students is a big deal here & our Rangers learned how serious we take it. Friday English I booked the #library for our Unit test. Four teachers walking around monitoring left no room for #doubt…we take our #data serious! Data = #knowledge to plan #growth

Sometimes there aren’t enough subs & it’s all hands on deck. As department chairs we fill in & help as needed. Shoutout to the science department chair, Ms. Washington, for helping students check out books while our librarian took her lunch. #highschool #reading #leader #library

Today instead of one giant #9thgrade assembly our AP gave up her whole day to meet with 3 classes at a time to reach out & #connect with our kids. #Students made a #promise to themselves on how they plan to be better & posted it for all to see! #proud #highexpectations #RiseUp

12 Angry Men #readaloud. 1/2 the class #read roles & the other 1/2 actively #annotated. Students were #engaged & those not reading are excited to read tomorrow. While reading students made predictions & connections to texts read this year. #play #invested #English #highschool

ENG I & “12 Angry Men”. Students were asked to look at the list of characters & descriptions to determine which 2 characters might have conflicts & why. Students then created the costumes they felt best suited the characters & explained why. #highschool #English #creative
