McDonald’s just dropped a new AI ad and it’s beautiful and I am genuinely tired of people pretending this is not the future of media. If this played on your TV during a normal commercial break, you would be disingenuous to say “its slop” or “I could easily tell it is AI.” It is a fantastic ad on its own merits, and it is obvious that AI video will eventually be one to one with reality, where you truly cannot tell the difference. if your of average intelligence and can extrapolate of course. When we get there, then what? Is it still “slop,” or does “slop” permeate as a label for anything made with AI, even when you cannot tell at all?

What you’re describing is “family first” not “family only.” “Family only” betrays all manner of reality, not to mention Christian principles. You have moral obligations outside your family and you also must engage with realities outside your family in order for your family to flourish. In this same way, “America only” is shortsighted and would inadvertently harm America. “America first” is appropriate and wise. “America only” takes a good concept too far. H1B visa example is a perfect one. Reject mass migration? Yes. Mass immigration? Yes. Even restrict normal levels of immigration. Yes. But deny the cream of the crop from other nations to come here? That’s just foolish and harms America.

I am America Only in the same sort of sense that I am My Family Only. My first priority is my family. I will never put any other family above my own. I will help other families only to the extent that it brings no harm to my family. There will never be a time when the interests of another family will come before my own. If I had to choose between rescuing a thousand strangers from a fire or just one of my children, I will choose my child without hesitation. Our leaders are not our parents and we are not their children, but the same general principle should apply. They should prioritize their people, Americans, above all other people on Earth. They should concern themselves with other nations only to the degree that it benefits Americans. If they could choose between helping 10 million foreigners or one American family, they should choose the American family without hesitation. This is what it means to be a nation, a people. Or what it should mean.
