@ChosenJawa @jimplank Thank you for that clarification. This helps me understand why a person could believe that they have attained sinless perfection; their definition of sin seems to be moderated. My experience has been the closer I get to Christ (perfection) the more sinful I see myself.

@theWay71314 @jimplank This hinges on the person's definition of sin. I can't speak for your Baptist friend, but the Holiness bodies will typically define sin as a "willful transgression against the known law of God." They deny the condemning power of concupiscence and sins of ignorance.

@ChosenJawa @jimplank I ask an old timer (80+ years old) Baptist Purity preacher one time when was the last time he had sinned. He stated that he believed he was in his 20's when he last sinned. I think he was a liar according to my understanding of 1 JN 1:8-10 through 1 JN 2:1-3.

@jimplank @theWay71314 Well said. I think the way you phrased that definately comports with the entirety of Scripture far better than some of the more extreme eradicationist/perfectionist language used by earlier Holiness writers.
