Console belongs on the blockchain. Our gaming worlds started with console - Mario on Nintendo, PlayStation, we played, built and dreamed. It came even before personal computers. It was the first digital world for most of us, before the internet came along. Console belongs on the blockchain. What we make, earn, progress, and generate deserves to live in a permanent digital space, creating a permanent memory book to look back on, during all phases of our lives. Gaming is and will always be the first use case for adoption - such is the case for "computers", the internet, and GPUs. Such will be the case for the blockchain. I cannot wait for the future to become reality.

People tried to make BTC a coin of hate, separation and criminal activity. Turns out, it was a token of peace, love and economic prosperity.

if you are feeling sad about the state of the industry, go to a hackathon, you don’t even need to build anything, but just go there to get closer to the possibilities that are actually out there, i promise you that you’ll be inspired again.

@theweb3jess It's annoying... time after time for myself and with people I advise it becomes clear that it's pretty easy to figure out what the right thing to do is. It's way harder to actually embrace that and follow it, the most effective teacher for that is the school of hard knocks 🤷

repeat founders raise faster. not because they're smarter... because VCs know they've already made the expensive mistakes. first-time founders learn on the job. investors are paying for that education. repeat founders show up with scar tissue. they know what they don't know.

If you are an engineer who’s wondering why your CEO suddenly fired 75% - 90% of the company, your comp package shrank and you’re asked to produce 10x more using AI: It’s because VCs and hyperliquid. Hyperliquid.

Lots of people who have loved me long time will probably change their minds as I begin to speak uncomfortable truths. The game has changed. No time for fake shit.

DM me for more details/tactics, but generally if you know the identity of the stalker, definitely file a restraining order, others have hired private investors to look into the stalker and also security A lot of the worst stalking cases have been related to Twitch IRL streamers, so you can see if any patterns emerge with what they’ve gone through and what you’re experiencing now

How health insurance in America works: Hi! Company. Pay us $50k for the year. No one uses a single dollar of it. End of year: we’ve returned 1% because the government made us. Enjoy! Signing off, The United States of America

Husband and I tried Miami for 1 year after living in SF and NYC tech scenes. Very top heavy - mostly successful founders and VCs who go to live in their nice houses and aren’t out there being part of the community Tons of larping founders - I got invited to some “female founder dinners” and every single woman showed up dressed for a kardashian wedding and had obviously spent all their time in the salon, not building a startup The grifting is real - we won Miami Hack Week in 2023. The $10k prize money did not exist and it took 6 months to even get a hold of the organizer. He never paid. When the next Miami hack week came around, I tried telling 3 people in the community. Organizer told them I was a liar and that I had been paid. This bullshit would never happen in SF or NYC. Miami hack week seems to have a new organizer now so I’m hopeful it’s being better managed.

Operator lens: distribution and founder quality are still the hard constraints. Capital should track repeat execution signals, not just pattern-matched resumes.
Jess | CEO @ Blockus@theweb3jess

A reminder only 1.7% of venture capital goes to female founders. Yes early stage VC is a pattern matching game. Diane Greene, Founder CEO of VMWare showed greatness before 21 and was an operator engineering manager before founding VMWare - $60+B market cap at 42 w 2 kids. Women often get our opportunity late in life due to a variety of factors - discrimination, innate bias, harassment and many other 1000 ways society throws in our way to take away our power. But at a certain point as capital allocators, you build the future you want to see. A reminder that while only getting 1.7% of funding, women return MUCH better - 78 cents vs 31 cents so if you only fund male founders who’s worst experience in life is someone trashing his product on twitter vs female founders who on average have a stalker, went through doxxing, and regularly get underestimated and therefore are pros at BD and sales - you’re literally a DEI warrior and don’t deserve to cry when you get yelled at by your LPs and never raise a fund 2. QED. Ok a LinkedIn rewrite of last paragraph: Funding founders with operational prowess who does not look like your typical guy - whether that be an Asian male, women of colour or otherwise, based on merit other than feels is a benefit to the founders and society overall. “Classic” founders regularly raise 50-100m as a team bet whereas female founders can’t get a team bet at 1m - 10m. If we want more innovation, more tech adoption and a better society, we need to be the change we want to see. Fund female founders.
