THREAD: The official narrative of how Luigi Mangione was apprehended doesn’t add up. Evidence suggests a deeper surveillance operation involving real-time facial recognition technology. Let’s delve into the inconsistencies and explore the implications. 🧵

In 2017, the Democratic establishment *didn't* champion measures that poll incredibly well across the political spectrum. We faked it, as a way to show it was possible.

The documentary about our action with @theYesMen last year, in which we fooled the world into thinking @adidas hired a former garment worker as co-CEO is now touring the world! It won a prize last weekend in Malaysia & "co-CEO" Len was there to accept it! theyesmen.org/project/adidas…
We're in Weimar for last days of a truly fun show of recent projects with #ThreadsandTits and @cleanclothes. All weekend Jeff will be sharing new, never-before-shown works! Come see it IRL while the weather is nice and @adidas is annoyed...

Remember how together with the Yes Men, we fooled the world into thinking adidas hired a former garment worker as co-CEO & signed the #PayYourWorkers agreement? Take a peak behind the scenes in a short documentary screening at festivals around the world: theyesmen.org/project/adidas….
Trickster activists the Yes Men collaborate with Clean Clothes Campaign and Berlin fashion designers to orchestrate an elaborate hoax announcement in an effort to improve conditions for garment workers and sustainability in the Adidas supply chain. @cleanclothes@theyesmen

Since launching the greenwashing emoji, @theyesmen, the activist group behind the campaign targeting liquified natural gas, have been hit with legal action by Condé Nast. You can read more about that here: eff.org/deeplinks/2024…
I think Fair Use is an extremely important principle for creativity because Fair Use gives creators latitude to use, reinterpret, and comment upon copyrighted material. This principle is especially important for social and political commentary because parody requires the use of an understandable pre-existing reference such as a person’s likeness or a corporate identity. Fair Use is the vehicle for free speech, which might upset powerful people when their identities or intellectual property is parodied and critiqued.
I support the Yes Men and their right to incorporate references to Wired Magazine as they comment upon corporate greenwashing. The most powerful voices in media should be holding irresponsible corporations to account, rather than attacking creatives who choose to call out the same corporations given a pass by the media.

LNG is actually a #fossilfuel that when extracted, transported & burnt as a marine fuel, leaks methane into the atmosphere - a gas that’s over 80-times more climate-warming in the short-term than carbon dioxide.

International Maritime Organisation stop the #greenwashing & lobbyists of Liquid Natural Gas!
The IPCC states fossil gas LNG is NOT shipping’s decarbonisation solution. LNG leaks methane that’s 80x more powerful than CO2 at trapping heat in the 1st 20 yrs. 🔥
