Last month, our Board President, Peter, had the opportunity to attend FAU’s gala and spend time with the university’s President Hasner, whose support and encouragement of student-led philanthropy continues to make a huge impact.

There’s something really special about these two. A father and son. Both Marines. Both choosing to come here and do the work — together. Watching them move through the program side by side is something we won’t forget.

We recently had the privilege of hosting a private showing of Out of the Fire Into the Light for our team, veterans, and supporters.

Over March 20–22, these amazing young men and women took on the 4x4x48 Challenge — running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. Twelve runs. Forty-eight miles. They raised $15,345 for The 22 Project.

Friday mornings are set aside for something different. Just a group of men sitting at a park talking about the important things in life — faith, responsibility, marriage, anger, purpose, leadership, and what it means to come home and live well after what they’ve been through.

One question we get asked a lot is: How is a SPECT scan different from an MRI or CT scan? At The 22 Project, we use SPECT imaging — and for many of our veterans, it provides information they’ve never been given before. To learn the difference, visit: instagram.com/the_22_project

As veterans complete the program, each is given a Bible engraved with their name and military branch insignia, generously provided by Chris at @operationlogos For many, it becomes a deeply personal reminder of the healing they began here.

Every other week we gather around the table for our Camp Snow meeting — a space for our current veterans to come together and share what this journey has meant to them. For our alumni, they often say it feels like coming home.

We want to say a BIG, heartfelt thank you to Mission BBQ! Mission BBQ has supported us for years, and their heart for veterans is real. It’s not performative. It’s consistent. Every month, Kevin shows up to our orientations with a smile, ready to set up and serve.

This year alone, ATO raised over $55,000 for The 22 Project. That means even more veterans will have access to life-changing care — because a group of young men decided this mission mattered. ATO, thank you.

Dinner at the Snows ❤️🤍💙 The Snows — Gold Star parents — open their home to every single veteran group that comes through our program. A home-cooked meal, a full table, stories shared across generations of service. It’s sacred in a way that’s hard to put into words.

At The 22 Project, we understand that healing doesn’t happen in just one realm. Yes, there is physical healing — but there are also the wounds of the soul. The ones that come from what was seen, done, or survived. Those wounds have a name: moral injury.
