@jslate15 You ARE a reflective listener. A great model of this for your kiddos!

Q7. Thee are so many great tools on which I will use to get students communicating. Asking questions at the end of each week and especially teaching ss how to use reflective listening. #Raccoonscontribute

Q3: This book can impact how we approach and discipline students. It’s important we teach students to be accountable for their actions. #Raccoonscontribute

Q5- Showing others that they are needed is an important way to cultivate an encouraging and supportive community. If I only show the things I'm good at and never ask for your help, it's difficult to perceive ourselves as a team. #raccoonscontribute

Q8. There are so many great points in this book...but this part! 👀 We study how to communicate, but sometimes forget WHY we communicate. Imagine if we kept friends who aren't like us, sat with someone from a diff team... chose understanding over comfort ... #Raccoonscontribute

Q7. #Raccoonscontribute I think the takeaway for me is to slow down🐢. We get going & its easy to get straight to the point. This year, I think its incredibly important to put that human side back into conversations. Not small talk, but genuine "talk to me" moments. 🖤🦝❤

Q6. Shout out to @khargitay bc every single time you voiced what benefited ALL Ss the most, even if it made your job more tedious. I know you give me real feedback & honest communication. You speak confidently & bring so much to the table. Thank you for YOU. #Raccoonscontribute

Q5. Part of encouragement that is often left out is also acknowledging mistakes. Support me as an educator and call me on a mistake, then help me fix it. A great way to support someone is during the hard times-not just the highs. 🌺🌼🌸 #Raccoonscontribute #growwithme

Q4. I would like to be remembered as an educator who valued the Ss for who they are & who they could become. Someone who was 'real' to each student. I would want each of my Ss to describe me differently, bc each relationship is different. #Raccoonscontribute
