The next obvious thing for scaling up test-time compute is to run multiple LLMs to process each individual request, in parallel. You then run a final LLM to critically evaluate the responses, and pick the best one to return to the user. This requires ~zero algorithmic advancement. People have done this already as a hobby project. The only reason it's not standard practice is because of compute costs and speed. Make LLMs easier/cheaper/quicker to run at a given intelligence level, and this becomes more viable. Just one example of Jevons paradox.
