@johncutlefish Do pair interviewing. One person lead, one shadow. Benefit is multifold - One of em being that you have two sets of notes to consider. Extra tip is to ise a rubric, and only after evaluating you both evaluated the interview, have a chat to compare notes and keep rubric handy.

A nice German person send me a package in Sweden - sadly I am not home and no-one else can pick it up. Even if I write a power of atterney, they can’t pick it up. I would need to hand that in before leaving or give the person my id.. I appreciate the security but it is annoying.

@cliffhazell A simple way to introduce this could be to put all of the estimates on an x axis and call it effort, And create a y axis called value and ask/help folks to shift the estimated items up or down.

@cliffhazell I’ve been pondering about this and i think it varies on the capabilities of the team you are expecting this from. Quite simply some might not be practiced in this. I’m sure very few folks would argue against doing it once they see this opportunity.

“Are we working on the right thing today?” is a great question to add to your daily standup routine. I’ve heard many teams ask a variation of “does everyone have something to do today?” This sometimes creates busy work rather than realising what you need to be working on or not.
