Goooood morning South Boston!!!! If that loud jet noise just startled you out of bed at 5:40AM on a Saturday it means our beloved runway 9/27 at Logan has reopened and the planes are back overhead. Like right overhead. It was good while it lasted. 🍻
The BOS Plane Nerd@the_plane_nerds

Runway 9/27 at Logan is closed until mid November for safety work. That means Seaport, Fort Point and South Boston’s D St corridor (kind of all of Southie) get a break for a bit this fall.

FAA says wind and staffing continue to impact the Northeast tonight with ground delay programs in effect at Boston, New York, DC, and Chicago. Expect up to three hour delays through the evening. Check flight status before heading to the airport.

The Plane Nerd Delay Report: 11/6/25 TPN will provide consistent updates as we enter this period of potential airspace closures and staffing-related slowdowns across the U.S. aviation system. No staffing triggers for Boston today, but strong northwest winds may force Runway 33/32 use. A Ground Delay Program is possible after 1 PM ET, which could slow arrivals and ripple into outbound delays. Elsewhere, staffing-related disruptions continue at major hubs like LAX, DFW, and EWR. If you’re flying out of Boston or connecting through those airports, plan for possible delays and check flight status often.
