YOUTUBE isn’t luck… but the game is rigged against most Creators… (Bookmark this) Because you need to ATTRACT an AUDIENCE… and attraction is a rigged game… let me explain… It’s possible your videos are not bad… They are well made, your personality is fun and the editing is solid… The more likely issue is that the content topic itself or the way it’s packaged… is UNREMARKABLE… So many creators are hearing “make high quality videos…” Many of you ALREADY ARE… That’s why people feel it’s rigged or unfair. Most people might not be struggling with quality at this point… They are struggling with VALUE… Because while many Creator who share there YouTube experiences are articulate it doesn’t mean they are great at communicating what they mean… They tend to conflate QUALITY (as a broad catch all term) instead of adding nuance. VALUE is what the viewer finds interesting or attractive enough to click on. You have to demonstrate value to the viewer for them to give you a chance… They don’t KNOW it’s a quality video until they click on it and have an experience. Quality is the experience we have. You can think of Value as someone who is attractive or has status or gets attention… And you can think of QUALITY as whether they have good or bad character and are worth being around once you get past the superficial attraction or interest… A lot of you do a great job of your videos… But you’re not doing a great job getting attention… Just like a good/great person, who doesn’t dress the best or has no Dems did style or isn’t the most attractive… You have to work on this and LOOK the part and if you focus on improving the packaging you can demonstrate VALUE and attract an audience… At a glance you have to get attention to be given a chance. So this is the chance to make a first impression. Focus on your TOPIC, TITLE, THUMBNAIL and TIMING… Use the analogy of high school. What lunch table are you sitting at? That’s your niche audience. So what topics would they care about and what topics will get you exiled and ignored at best and getting stuffed into a locker at worst if you bring it up at this table? (Niche topic, trend within niche, evergreen idea) Or what story could you LIVE that would have everyone talking the minute you walk into the cafeteria (high effort content idea) For your title, what is the one thing you can say to immediately get the attention of the group to shift to you the minute you sit down? (What is too interesting to ignore, or too weird to ignore or too good to be true?) And for thumbnails, how would you dress if you wanted to turn heads and be the center of attention? (Dress to impress and dress for the job/status you want) As for timing, nobody wants to be irrelevant or old news or boring… what can you say or do that feels relevant to the moment and also might have some staying power? (Be aware of the community and read the room) This is the art of attracting attention. And this has more to do with you getting views than how well you made a video… Making a quality video is important for subscribers and watch time. And for building a reputation… But you won’t get that opportunity without getting views first… And so that means VALUE FIRST. So become a a VALUE FIRST Creator and make that your priority. This is some of the most actionable advice you will find as a Creator.

I got this DM from a teenage follower and it's blown my mind. Honestly....this is everything wrong with the YouTube strategy space right now. If you just see youtube as a quick and easy way to make passive income: Don't do YouTube. If you don't wake up and get excited about making videos: Don't do YouTube. If you aren't willing to make videos for 2 years with no results: Don't do YouTube. You don't have to do this! Not everyone should have a YouTube channel. Also stop buying courses and hiring people before you even start a channel wtf RT/Like to share this message far and wide.
