life is so weird!
Some years ago, in a Manchester bedroom, i started a podcast with a $100 microphone and called it The Diary Of A CEO...
The idea was that i'd share some of the more personal things in my diary - that first episode got 40 subscribers on Apple.
Most of them were my friends.
Thankfully, two of my friends told me it wasn't as embarrassing as I thought it was, and told me to carry on.
Today, about 6 years after bringing the show to YouTube, we hit 16,000,000 subscribers.
This month we had 90 million± downloads/views (a new record for us), and added 600,000+ new subscribers to the show.
no rational person looking at me sat in that bedroom at 3am, trying to figure out how to edit on garage band, using a sock as a pop-shield for the microphone, would have forecast any of this. i certainly did not.
all of this has been so weird to me that it's mentally easier to just not think about it, and focus on the work... which is the decision we've always made and will continue to make
In an industry dominated by American media giants, I'm really proud that a show founded in Britain by a team of now hundreds of Brits, many of them young people in their first job, can compete globally...
And i'm reminded again what's possible with the right people, the right focus, a willingness to work very hard, (and some good fortune and timing).
AND... i'm reminded again of the power of the creative industries in the UK.
FLIGHTSTORY, our media company behind The Diary Of A CEO and a growing slate of other shows, just finished its 25,000 sqft campus in central London and is expanding in the US.
We're hiring like crazy - so please get in touch if you're looking for a job!
We're looking for everything from software engineers, creatives, C-suite level execs and more!
To the audience who show up week after week, thank you so much for handing me one of the great, unexpected, privileges of my life!
ok, back to work!

If you are in 200 level or 300 level, please listen.
This is the most dangerous phase of your life and you don’t even know it.
You’re no longer a fresher, so the fear is gone. You’re not yet graduating, so the urgency is not there.
You’re just….coasting.
Attending classes half-heartedly.
Running parol, relationships, and temporary validation.
Postponing skill acquisition because you think there’s still time.
There isn’t.
This is the exact window where people who will dominate later quietly separate themselves.
While others are arguing about CGPA, a few are learning high-income skills.
While others are chasing clout, a few are building real networks.
While others are spending money, a few are figuring out how to make it.
Now let’s talk money, because this is where many of you are getting it wrong.
If all the money that enters your hand leaves immediately, you’re training yourself to stay broke.
Learn to keep something. Even if it’s small. Discipline is built before income grows.
Stop waiting for big money before you start thinking like someone who handles money well.
Start doing something that brings in income, no matter how small:
Offer simple services around you - design, typing, CV writing, tutoring.
Buy and sell - perfumes, thrift clothes, gadgets, snacks.
Solve problems for students - assignments formatting, printing, project help.
Learn a digital skill - video editing, social media management, basic coding.
Monetize what you already use - run pages, manage accounts, promote products.
You don’t need capital to start, you need awareness and consistency.
And understand this that the goal is not just money, it’s experience.
By the time others are writing CVs with “no experience”, you should already have proof of work, small clients, and a track record.
If you finish 300 level with zero income source and no skill, you didn’t “focus on school”….. you avoided responsibility.
Your certificate will not compete for you. You will.
So wake up.

This is the 3rd time I'm sacrificing my allowance for a checkmark.
My dad did not send me to build on X
My mom did not send me to build on X
None of my relatives sent me to build on X
I took it upon myself to do something 90% of my mates won't dare do.
And I don't care when it comes to shamelessly pitching myself in rooms full of opportunities.
When I said I'm a struggling student, I know what I'm saying.
So dear @ObatalaSon47 @behumble18
@Mogba9 @brainn_yyy
Whenever you come across tweets talking about struggles, the best thing is to STFU if you have nothing constructive to add to it.
Thankiu!

My first scholarship was in secondary school.
The next one paid for my bachelors and masters together.
This one, PTDF, paid for my PhD.
If I need more, I can get more.
Not because I know heavy weight politicians, but because I understand how scholarships work.
The human component and the God factor.
If you want to learn from me, reply “Academy of Scholarships and Transitions” to have my masterclass sent to you all for free.
Remember to follow so that I can Dm you.

At 26 years old I just finished my Ph.D. In Industrial Chemistry (Never thought I’d achieve this as a Nigerian living in Nigeria).
I’ve published 5 research papers, still working on 5 more with 3 already under peer review.
I haven’t even started achieving half of what I want !!

After almost 2 years of struggling, learning, doubting…
today I finally got an opportunity to start my career in tech as a **Full Stack Python Intern**.🥹
The salary is low right now, but honestly I don’t even care.
All I wanted was a door into tech & today one finally opened.
Just getting started.
