AP mines have little military utility today. They don’t stop armies, but they kill&maim civilians during conflict & for decades after. This is a cheap populist move that doesn’t provide real defence. SPs should engage asap to protect @MineBanTreaty as a cornerstone of IHL!

The military is discussing the event of a nuclear detonation. Most relevant is smaller, tactical nukes of 1 or 5 kg tonnes. If used, it would no longer be a tactical, but strategical weapon createing a catastrophe that would impact the whole world,says @AndersKildal @Forsvaret_no

2 hours after a detonation, my biggest concern would be the burns, 90 percent of those who died in Hiroshima died of burns. In Norway we have 8 burn beds and 236 intensive care beds. Imagine that for 100 000 patients, says MD and resident of surgery @HSykehus Saima Naz Akhtar.
