What are "Fraud Proofs" on @union_build. The concept and significance of fraud proof 👇🏾 First The Scaling Problem Ethereum is slow & expensive if every user checks every transaction. If a blockchain has to re-check every transaction, it becomes slow and expensive. Solution? Move work off-chain ("Rollups"). But how do we trust off-chain operators? What if they cheat? Then comes Fraud Proofs. They help blockchains scale by not checking everything upfront, but still making sure lies don’t go unpunished In simple terms: Fraud proofs = proof that someone tried to cheat. The Optimistic Idea Optimistic Rollups assume all transactions are valid unless proven guilty. Operators ("Sequencers") post batches of tx + a "result" on Ethereum. They put down a cash bond as collateral. If they lie? You can slash them. How does Fraud Proofs Works? Anyone (you, me, a bot) can be a "Watcher". Watchers re-run off-chain transactions locally. If they spot fraud, they build a Fraud Proof (a tiny cryptographic receipt that points to exactly where cheating happened.) Submitting Proof = Watchers send the Fraud Proof to Ethereum. Ethereum checks it: ⭕ Valid? → Revert the fraud + Slash the operator’s bond ⭕ Watcher gets a reward 🏆 This makes cheating costly & unprofitable. Why the 7-Day Wait? Withdrawing funds from Optimistic Rollups takes ~7 days. Why? That’s the challenge window because watchers need time to verify & submit Fraud Proofs. No fraud after 7 days = your money is safe to move. Key Players in fraud proof ⭕ Sequencer: Posts tx batches + bonds ETH. ⭕ Watcher: Guardians who verify & can submit Fraud Proofs. ⭕ You: Can be a watcher (Run a node + monitor) Security depends on 1+ honest watcher existing. Why It Matters Fraud Proofs let us: ❎ Keep blockchains secure ❎ Reduce the load on L1 ❎ Scale using rollups ❎ Let users trust, but still verify All without needing to run full nodes everywhere. In short; Fraud Proofs = A game-theoretic "immune system" for blockchains: » Assume good faith » Punish provable fraud » Incentivize honesty All with minimal on-chain work. Been a busy day at the office, but I just finished remaking the @union_build tokenomics; using the "old & invalidated" circulating version to create a new one i think the community will love. -12% airdrop (8% mainnent + 4% post-tge) - 8% at TGE (fully unlocked) testers = 7%, yappers = 1%. - testers = 70 million tokens - yappers = 10 million tokens 🌚 What do you think? P.s- it's all assumptions.
