@frutigerkei @LiteCloud5 @object_stream I think a subscription service for stolen OSC content isn't a very ethical way to support the devs. Even if the videos are watchable for free with ads, that ad revenue should instead go to the original creators.

@LiteCloud5 @thebarfyshow @object_stream my guess is that its probably to support the devs ,, you most likely can watch everything without a subscription idk

The home Object Shows deserve, built by fans, for fans ^^
Object Stream Community is a free platform made just for Object Shows: one clean place to discover, watch, track, and review the series you love :)

@object_stream can you explain this

@object_stream If this website is going to be free, why is there a json mentioning ad-related subscription tiers? It seems like there is a plan to profit from other creators' work. Also, is there a reason OpenAI is listed in the privacy policy as a third party service?

Heyyy everyonee! It's Dan here, the founder and developer behind Object Stream Community, jumping onto our official account for a moment to talk to you all a little more personally ^^
First of all, me and the entire team genuinely can't thank you enough for all the support you've been giving us, we truly never expected this to blow up the way it has, and in such a tiny amount of time too, in just about 7 hours it had already made this much noise, and honestly we don't even know how to properly show you all how happy and excited we are right now, so much so that it's currently 6am in the morning for me and I've been lying here trying to sleep and not look at everything that's been pouring in since around 1am, because realistically I really should be resting,
but that's actually exactly how, still scrolling at this hour, I ended up bumping into some of the not so nice stuff too, a few people calling it a stupid idea, some thinking that we're somehow trying to replace YouTube, and then the one I've now seen repeated the most, people saying the whole thing is vibecoded, so I'd really love to gently clear a couple of these up, because they honestly do mean a lot to me ^^
so first, on the idea that we're trying to replace YouTube, that couldn't really be further from what this actually is, and just like it already says on our Kickstarter pre-launch page, everything on the platform plays through YouTube's official embedded player, we don't host or re-upload a single video ourselves, every episode runs straight through YouTube exactly as it normally would and always links right back to the original creator's channel, and we built it this way completely on purpose, because it means the creators keep every bit of their views, their ad revenue and their credit, nothing is ever taken away from them, so we're really not here to compete with YouTube or be some alternative to it, all we're doing is giving people one organized place to discover and keep track of Object Shows while always sending them right back to the people who actually make them,
and then the other big one, the whole vibecoded thing, meaning people thinking the site was just fully thrown together by an AI, and I promise there's a real reason behind me saying it really wasn't,
and it's not only because computer science is something I truly care about, even though it really is, I go to an ITIS (which is a CS-focused school in italy), I'm in my fourth year now, and I've been programming for pretty much my whole life starting with blockly and ending up with javascript, c++, sql, python, rust, etc..., but that's honestly the smaller part of the story,
the bigger reason is that a project with an architecture like this one is simply far too complex to ever be built entirely by an AI, and if I were really vibecoding the whole thing, I probably wouldn't have even been able to put together a secure maintenance page, let alone everything actually running quietly under the hood,
like a content moderation system split across four different layers, where one of them runs its own machine learning models directly on the server and lives in a separate process that recycles itself on purpose so it doesn't slowly leak memory and bring everything down, or the backend running across multiple worker processes at once where the caches have to stay perfectly in sync in real time so the moment something changes it changes everywhere instantly,
and the thing is, all of that is stuff you already have to genuinely understand yourself just to even be able to ask an AI to build it in the first place, and if you don't know it, the AI won't get it right either, so the whole thing just quietly falls apart, which is exactly why vibecoding doesn't really hold up nowadays, and I'll be real with you, I'm one of the first people to be against it,
that said, I really don't want to pretend that I never used AI at all, because being the only developer behind this entire site, trying to do everything on my own is so incredibly hard, and there were so many moments where I leaned on it to explain a concept to me, or to hand me a little snippet or some advice, or to help me find a new approach whenever I got stuck on a bug I just couldn't crack by myself, and I used all of that to slowly keep improving the platform and making it sturdier and sturdier over time, but that's a tool helping me build something, never something building it for me :)
and on top of all of that, I wouldn't even have the money to pay for enough AI to somehow vibecode a platform this big, only to then watch it come crashing down two days after launch, since today's coding agents really have no clue what optimization or scalability even are lol, I actually had to load test the site under simulated heavy traffic and rebuild parts of it myself when the heavier stuff started eating memory and falling over, which is exactly the kind of work an AI just won't do for you,
and one last little thing, I completely understand that the maintenance page, the way it looks right now, might give off that "made by AI" feeling, and I'll admit, UI/UX really isn't my strongest suit, so for a few of the layouts I took a bit of inspiration from other sites, or used snippets that were, well, what they were, and then did my very best to tweak them into something a little nicer and with some personality of its own, so I'm really sorry if I didn't quite manage to pull it off in the end :c
anyway, I just really wanted to be open with you all about this, and I promise we're only going to keep improving from here, we'll keep you updated on everything as we go, answering your questions, and slowly giving you more info and more content little by little, so please bear with us, and thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for all the love, it honestly means the world to us ^^

this chart is so dumb
any hues can work with each other as long as theres enough contrast
its misleading to blame the hue when all of the examples are neon text on a neon background
moon! comms 📌@astrobugz_

#GeometryDash So considering RobTop never did the due diligence he should have as a European company to report what was leaked. I may as well just reveal one thing I kept secret for quite a while to not immediately soil his reputation.
In the DB leak were unencrypted passwords.
