The hand-painted animation was named Best Music Video at the 2024 Grammys and has now been translated into a pair of prints featuring two sequences from the film. “You’d think we’d won the cup, or something!” — Paul Sixty years ago tonight, The Beatles at Shea Stadium aired on BBC One, giving viewers back home in the UK a front-row look at what Beatlemania looked and sounded like in America.

Blackbird, fly 🐦‍⬛ When writing ‘Blackbird,’ Paul shared, “I had in mind a Black woman, rather than a bird. Those were the days of the civil rights movement, which all of us cared passionately about, so this was really a song from me to a Black woman, experiencing these problems in the States: ‘Let me encourage you to keep trying, to keep your faith; there is hope.’”
