I find that when I want to really understand a deck, testing 100+ games and then writing my own internal guide on it goes way farther for me than buying a guide. Afterwards I can buy a guide and supplement the info on top of what I’ve learned. 🤓 guides aren’t bad at all, but I have seen that good Pokemon players don’t always necessarily translate into good teachers, and some of them just give you the lines and say have fun, without going into the fundamentals of the lines.
