I’ve been a DFIR guy for 20 years. The short answer is: we are not wanted. C-suites and shotty management want quick answers but not the investment to get those answers. What they want is L3’s that can read logs. LEO want DF but not IR, and only for mobile devices. It’s really rare to find corporate DF roles that are not completely mislabeled Incident Handling/Incident Responder roles
