In Joshua 1, Joshua steps into leadership at a moment filled with uncertainty... the task ahead is overwhelming, and the responsibility is heavy. Yet God does not minimize the challenge, He anchors Joshua in His presence and His word 🙌 📖 Josh. 1:5 (ESV) “I will not leave you or forsake you.” Again and again, God points Joshua away from his own ability and back to what truly sustains him: the promise of God’s nearness 🔥 📖 Josh. 1:9 (ESV) “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Strength grows when trust deepens... as we lean into God’s promises, courage rises, not because the path is easy, but because we are not walking it alone I hope this has been a gentle reminder for you today

Prayer poured out in honesty is never wasted. God does not turn away from the prayers that come trembling, tearful, or unfinished In 1 Samuel 1, Hannah brings her deep anguish before the LORD, not with polished words, but with a heart laid bare... her prayer is quiet, misunderstood by others, yet fully seen by God 📖 1 Samuel 1:10 (ESV) “She was deeply distressed and prayed to the LORD and wept bitterly.” Hannah doesn’t hide her pain or rush past it. She pours it out, trusting that God can hold what she cannot fix... and Scripture reminds us that the LORD is attentive to prayers offered in truth, even before answers appear 📖 1 Samuel 1:17 (ESV) “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition that you have made to him.” Not every prayer is answered in the same way or time, but none are ignored... honest prayer draws us closer to God, shaping our hearts even as we wait I hope this has offered you some reassurance today

Be careful what you eat when you are starving… Sex seems appealing when you're hungry for love. Drunkenness seems appealing when you're hungry for joy. Gossip is tempting when you're hungry to fit in. But while those may fill you up temporarily, they will always leave you hungrier than before. So lean on someone who gives you eternal joy, love, and peace. Because God Is the only one that can satisfy your hunger.

That’s a thoughtful way of framing it. Our shared sense of right and wrong does not feel accidental. It quietly points beyond us Paul reflects on this more fully in Romans 2:12–16, where he speaks of conscience and moral awareness even apart from written law. One line especially stands out: 📖 Romans 2:15 (ESV) “They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness.” That inner moral witness reminds us that good is not imagined, and that it comes from a holy and loving Lawgiver

Atheists often ask: “If God is good, why so much evil and suffering in the world? This is a fair question. It is something I believe we all have wrestled with at some point. But let’s ask a slightly different question that shines some light on the problem of evil. If there is no God, why rage against injustice, cancer, or cruelty as if the universe owes us fairness? Naturalism says evil is just physics + evolution, there is no moral “ought.” Yet every fiber of us screams that torturing innocents is objectively wrong, not just inconvenient. That outrage points to a Moral Law we didn’t invent. Christianity doesn’t dodge evil, it explains it through the free will and fall of man. But the most beautiful part, is Christ defeats evil. The death of Christ on the cross and His glorious resurrection, gives us sure promised hope that in the end all things will be restored and evil and suffering will be no more. So now I ask you, which view better accounts for both the darkness and our deep intuition that good should win?

@DaveRencken Thank you David for sharing it. Jesus truly does stop for the cry of faith, even when the crowd tries to quiet it 📖 Mark 10:49 (ESV) “And Jesus stopped and said, ‘Call him.’” May we walk forward with Him, attentive to His voice and His mercy

Mark 10:46-52 “And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” I just had to recount the entire event because it always drives home several key points when it comes to me/you & Jesus: 1) Acknowledge that without Him we are beggarly and undone, without hope, and without peace. 2) Cry out to Him always, in every situation, and for everything. He hears you, even when you feel like you’re lost in the crowd. 3) Don’t let anything or anyone get between you & Jesus, and your acknowledgment of how desperately you need Him (and don’t stop crying out to Him always and for everything). 4) When Jesus intervenes in your life and says “go your way”, you had best get up and follow Jesus in the way. The Lord bless and keep you in this day, and please may I humbly ask that you follow, like and repost this content, so that this ministry can grow in support of my God-given mission. Lord bless, David
