Before the fires, Bass cut the fire dept budget and eliminated 58 positions. This was while the fire Chief asked to hire 400 people to meet international standards.
It really annoys me when she talks about the fires.

After the fires, Nithya Raman literally voted against my proposal to hire 227 more firefighters and slow-walked permit fee relief for 10 months. I have been the one in the community — streamlining permitting, cutting red tape, and holding insurance companies and banks accountable. Now over 500 homes are under construction and another 1,200+ permits have been issued.
