All-Region Team (6A-3), All-County Team (Shelby) SUMMARY: Hampton is an incoming high school senior hybrid LB/EDGE prospect with a sturdy, powerful build. Has experience aligning in two and three-point stances from multiple alignments. When playing mike LB, he is a downhill thumper who makes plays with plus awareness and efficient pursuit angles. Shows good play strength and stopping power, regularly preventing ball carriers from falling forward. Plays with good length and range relative to his size, extending outside his frame to rein in tackles. Lined up on the edge in a three-point stance, he pairs a quick first step with a compact strike zone to shoot gaps. His slipperiness and strength make him a difficult block in close quarters. Looks very comfortable coming off the edge and playing in the traffic at the LOS. Further development in this area of his game can unlock valuable upside. Hampton is a great fit for programs with defenses that play multiple fronts, based on his versatility and experience.
