RIP the incredible David Bordwell. He was a mentor to me long before I got to meet him, and he was a mentor to me formally for a long time after, offering notes on things I was writing, sharing my work, and giving me counsel on all matters. A great mind, a great man.

I recently bought some wireless earbuds and am now walking through life permanently accompanied by music. The juxtaposition of sound and vision has made me weep twice already today. Yours, slightly melodramatic of Spittal!!! But it was Tom!!!
