@Omojuwa Calling it a 'norm' ignores everything else he does on the pitch. Even without the goals, his movement stretches defenses and opens up the lanes for the wingers. If he was truly a liability, world class managers wouldn’t keep starting him in major tournaments.

@Omojuwa Form is temporary, but class is permanent. Defenses still panic when he's in the box, and that presence alone creates chances for the team even if he isn't the one finishing them. It's just the opening game for Portugal 🤷♂️. I'm still confident. It's a marathon not a sprint 🧏♂️

Best bet is impact player. Study the game whilst on the bench, see the gaps and also he gets to play against tired defenders. He can do damage but they just need to manage things better. Yesterday was a mess.

I think it’s a lazy argument that Ronaldo is holding them back. I also think it’s lazy and stupid to say he is knowingly jeopardizing Portugal’s chances. EXCEPT YOU WANT TO RUN AGENDA which I’m all for. I genuinely feel he and the coach should discuss on minutes, he should never be playing 90 minutes at 41. No matter how strong or experienced he is. The team needs to try other things after 60-70 minutes. Take him out and do other things.
