Now that Meta Avatars SDK is at end of development too, I think there’s a fairly big business that can be built serving devs who need a decent cross-platform avatar system. AI could really accelerate this.

@JNavok I was there, and honestly it was sad. Felt like it lacked purpose, only indies actively making something. Most attendees were students, and I heard some stories about flights cancelled, airport disruptions, and revoked visas. Technical people preferred specific events like GTC

1/ Is there a GDC next year?
On the one hand, next year should bring plans for a new Xbox console and prep for Playstation 6. One would think that the industry was just getting ready for its next generation cycle to begin.

On the other hand, friends who have run events for the last decade have not reserved events for next year. Many talks on Thursday and Friday were cancelled, and friends who held talks spoke of mostly empty rooms. E3 was happening in 2024 until it wasn’t.

Incredible. And scary.
I might use to test ideas, sketch gameplays... But public image will be that it outputs something interesting so easy, might rise expectations on gamedev to unhealthy levels. Because it's interesting per se, but useless outside, in the production world.
