Congratulations to our very own Dr. Mike Conner! 🎉 Dr. Conner was recently elected Vice President of @wildlifesociety! A member for 35 years, Dr. Conner has served a variety of roles, including Southeastern Section Representative, and was named a TWS fellow in 2014.

The Entomology Lab was well represented at the 64th Annual Southern Forest Health Work Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma! 🦗✈️ They are already looking forward to next year’s meeting, which will be right here in Georgia, on Jekyll Island! 🌴

Join us to congratulate JaBryan Pegues on a successful M.S. thesis defense! 🎉 JaBryan's work centered around new site index equations for longleaf pine planted on marginal agricultural lands and tree-level growth efficiency relationships. 🌲

We have a new Ichauway record! 🏆️🎉 Our Herpetology Lab recently captured a pine snake (Pituophis melanoleucus) that measured 5'11", surpassing the previous record of 5'10"! 🤯

While many of our native groundcover species are blooming beautifully, the butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa) stands out brilliantly in the landscape. Its bright colors and knack for nectar production attract pollinators, like this zebra swallowtail (Eurytides marcellus)! 🦋
